Would this tire combination be OK?
« on: Today at 01:47:22 PM »
I am looking to replace dry rotten tires on 1994 K75C. Was wondering if this combo is OK. Thank you!

I don't know much about either of them, however, as I found the last time I bought tires, and I will be buying again yet this year, as our bikes are getting older and fewer of them on the road there are fewer tire options to pick from(especially radials). I may end up back with bias ply this year.
Whatever you do end up buying, be sure to check/inspect the date stamp on the sidewall when you receive them. The last thing you want is a 2-3yr old "new" tire just because it sat on a warehouse shelf doesn't necessarily mean it's new.

That combo should be OK for riding that is relatively relaxed and on decent pavement. I'd opt for these Shinkos from American Moto Tire as a pair because I'm partial to complementary tread function as designed by the manufacturer.

Shinko Tourmasters are noted around here for high mileage potential but are popular so are harder to find as a pair from one vendor at this point in the season.

Anyway, these Shinko 712 tires from AMT, or the pair you chose, should do as starters.

Great, I was looking for pair of Shinkos, but Chapparal and Revzilla (places I shop for bike stuff) didn’t have them
