Recent work on my '93 K11RS
« on: August 20, 2025, 12:47:15 PM »
So I've been making some progress on my RS recently. Decided to rework the coolant system with new hoses, thermostat, cap, aftermarket fan (Thanks Euro Moto Electrics). Also put on a pair of Clearwater Darla's, an Aux. fusepanel, powered the tank bag and set up a RAM bracket to mount a GPS and powered that. Fixed my side panels. Also installed a Corbin solo/gunfighter seat. Still want to go for a repaint. I have fuel injectors and a few other items to work on. It'll get there. If I'm lucky, I'm going to do an overnight up to the BMWRA rally in Athens, OH. Cheers! Shaun

Clearwater Darla's
Are you still running a standard H4 headlight bulb? I was thinking about accessory lights (for brightness and differentiation to another drivers), but I tried a LED H4 bulb first, and I'm glad I did. It has a good cutoff and the high beam is absolutely phenomenal. It was a AUXITO 72W H4 9003 (watch out for fakes), which puts out 4000LM realistically (it only pulls ~3.3A or 40W, 72W was for two H4 bulbs). And the relay mod is pointless now too. If you want something similar but name brand, look at the PIAA LEH220

Nadrol.... sorry for the delay, for a long time couldn't get logged in, somehow it just worked yesterday.

I'm running a bulb from Cyclops Adventure https://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/led-headlight-bulbs.html?srsltid=AfmBOorMPoGH1HTDkg0_idskGM9PpWtJ1VC48_3V_c9V-uZU026YroOe

I don't recall the specs, but I've had their bulbs in other bikes and liked the customer service and quality.

Haven't progressed much since last post. The repaint will have to wait for now. Kids, house, spouse, added a second dog... :)

Cheers... Shaun.

  • Not too many bikes. Garage too small.

Nice improvements. I would like to see the drivers view of the rail when you have a chance. 🙂
