loss of site function
« on: July 21, 2025, 07:51:43 AM »
Since the site was down/off line a couple of weeks ago has anyone else been having issues with the "show unread posts since last visit" not working?
I've logged out, cleared out my local cookies and browser cache, yet new posts are still not showing up.
I seem to vaguely remember that this has happened before but it's been a looooong time ago, probably on an older server/software package.

I don't seem to be having any problems.

I'm running Firefox 140.0.4 on Windows 10 on an old Toshiba laptop.

Interesting. I'm also on Firefox 140.0.4 Windows 11 Pro on a newer Lenovo thinkpad.
I'm also noticing that I'm getting logged out when closing window, even though I'm selecting to 'stay logged in'.
I'm not having issues with any other forum site, only this one.  Not the end of the world. Just curious if anyone else was having issues.
You just got me thinking.....I've got other machines, tablets, smartphone, various different browsers, so it's possible one of my other devices could have it messed up.
More to investigate.

No issues for me running both Chrome and Opera on a Win10 laptop and Android 14 phone.

I'm having the same condition with FireFox on my Mac since FireFox's last update. I changed a couple of FireFox preferences to see what happens.

Review  FireFox Preferences/Privacy and Security/History The check mark in the first box in the list had been removed during the last FF update. I checked it again and now access to latest posts has resumed and unlogging me from the MB has dissipated. I'm using MacOS 10.15.7.

I've been using Firefox for 20+ years, but for the past year or so their constant buggy updates are getting me thinking about using something different.

Seems like every couple of months some new problem pops up with my Firefox browser associated with one of their "updates".  Things like blocking my VPN or locking me out of my bank account for a week.  Currently, I can't get into the technical library at the K100 Forum.

I realize they are trying to stay ahead of the hackers, I guess it's the price we have to pay to use the internet.

Since things went bad on 4 of my 6 browsers and all are Chromium based it may have been a Chromium mod that caused the issue.

I've used Safari, Firefox, DuckDuckGo and lately the Vivaldi browser over the years and have found the features of Vivaldi (Chromium based) are my latest go-to.

I corresponded with an administrator there. It's a K100-forum problem. Work is being undertaken to resolve it. This is the second time in about a year.

i'm having the issue. I access Motbbrick using Chrome on a Macbook Pro.  I normally access Motobrick using the url https://www.motobrick.com/index.php?action=unread  for bringing up the "Show unread posts since last visit." page.  It would prompt me for a login and bring me right to that page.  That no longer works.  I do get a login prompt but I don't get logged in  when I supply my credentials.  Iinstead  get the message "Unable to verify referring url. Please go back and try again.". I'm dropped into the site as guest.  If I seperately log in, then I get to select thhat url.

Yes, that's where I'm at now as well. If I manually enter my creds or repeat the stored creds a 2nd time then I can get in and open the unread page. At least at this point I can now see the unread page(after 2nd login attempt) where I couldn't see anything before. Slight improvement, but not much.

I usually click "show unread posts" and it has come up blank for the last week since the forum came back on line.  I figured all the old motobrickers had just died off.  Good to see it's just some glitch, though it's the same on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox on my Mac and iPhone.

I'm still hit and miss with 'show unread posts since last visit'.  More often than not I get a blank page, at which point I can click on the 'click here to try all unread topics' which then populates the page with unread posts.
