Hi everyone - I am at my wit's end and discouraged. I have spent numerous hours on the Forum search (lots of good advice) and at least 10 hours in the shop doing testing (using the K100 Forum troubleshooting starting guide - an amazing write-up!).
I bought a K75C that had been in storage for over 10 years and am trying to get it to start. It is in overall good condition, and the wiring, connectors, etc., are not corroded.
Problem seems like no fuel getting into the cylinders after cranking with the handlebar start switch on and the clutch handle tied in.
Here is what I have done and my testing notes:
- Good compression in all 3 cylinders
- Starter works fine
- New fuel pump and filter work fine (about 72 PSI at tank and 36 PSI at fuel rail) and re-circulation is good.
- Good strong spark on all 3 plugs
- Injector test good at 16 ohms
- Bosch FI Control unit (it looks clean, no corrosion or indication of overheating):
-- Have current to #9 with the starter going
-- Ground from #12 to fuel injector “0” ohms on one pin and about 8.5 ohms on the other pin
-- 190 ohms between 8 & 9 pin
- Pulled out relays and the air flow big connector and all looks good
It cranks up nicely, good fuel pressure, and good spark, but appears no fuel in the cylinders.
Any suggestions?
Many thanks
