Motolight 35w replacement bulbs?
« on: January 06, 2025, 02:25:11 PM »
Are there replacement 35w bulbs available for the  Motolight pods? Possible crossover bulb brands? Not looking for led, just need new bulbs, as these are fading out. The bricks pods are brake mounted and crenellated rings, if that matters. Cheers

Okie Dokie, got the LEDs installed on the Motolights.
The replacement has a 15 degree spot which works perfect for my needs. Much cleaner 5k spectrum and doesn't heat up the housings. Note, these are 8W upgrades.

Just to be clear: The LEDs are a plug-n-play direct swap for the old halogen bulbs?

(I ask because I have a set of the old halogen Motolights laying around.)

Yes sir Duckster, easy plug in. The original halogens have a dab of silicone on the base that pulls the shiny surface paint off...not a big deal. Trick is not to wiggle the bulb out, just a firm straight pull and nothing gets bent. Great time to clean gaskets (silicone and o-ring) and glass lens. Cheers

I checked out the Motolights' site and they want two Benjamins for a pair of LEDs. Yikes!

There's a ton of alternate MR16s out there and it looks like the ones you found are great with 5000K and a 15 degree spot pattern.
