The alternator is rattling. What's wrong?

Why is the alternator rattling loudly at idle or low speed? Maybe its alternator drive cup should look like this one on this alternator,

but instead, it looks like this


with these inside it.


What do you do? Get a new one of these


and if you're in a hurry, put new these inside it. They'll work well for tens of thousands of miles or more.


If you can wait, put super duper these inside it from tills.de  They'll likely outlast you, especially if you're collecting a pension.  :laughing4-giggles:


The job can be done in a couple of hours with the Brick on its center stand or if you're limber, on its side stand.
