Engine guards

Newbie’  question, I have had Guzzi’s with no lower frame rails but never any engine guards
The K75 C I have came with the engine guards in a box with broke. Rubber bushings ( for lack of a better word). In looking at them they look like they are intended to rip away at some point during a low side drop.
And there for should not be mounted directly to the engine case with out the rubber bushings
Is this the case. 
More curious than anything not even sure I am going to use them

Basically all they will be good for is protection when the bike is dropped at a stand still.
I will say that I had a set on my K1100 and even at a standing drop, the weld on the bar broke before, and the rubber never did give way.

I've dropped my K1100LT a few times and they do work. (Except the mirror edges do get scraped.)

It's a good idea to not have your foot underneath it when the bike drops as it can cause a very painful fracture in your foot. DAMHIK.

I am a former ST 1100 owner and they had a counter on their profile page as a joke to how many times people have dropped their ST in the driveway or store parking lot or wherever
