Hello friends,

Greetings from Toronto Canada where I am trying to locate a replacement fuel gauge part #61-31-1-459-047.  I have a 1985 K100 RT with only 30K on it, but the fuel gauge started to leak and the tread disintegrated when I tried to remove it.  I've searched everywhere and can only find a tank that has the part included on Ebay.  Would appreciate any help to get me back on the road :)

You'll just need to keep searching; that part is a phantom. It was replaced by the float-type sender in '86 which required a redesigned tank for accommodation. Read about this solution one member found for the leakage problem and posted at the end of a titanic thread involving your Brick's type of sender. If your sender's cap cannot be used, you'll need to find a cap that you can modify to accept the fuel pump's wires then seal it from leakage.

One of the old ones might turn up; keep your eyes open.
