WTB: K100RS 91-92 US Connecting rod bolts
« on: August 25, 2022, 08:49:32 PM »
I'm looking to buy some Connecting rod bolts for a 91 K100rs  PN: 11 24 1 460 344

Welp took it apart too far for convenience.  Apparently these are hard to come by so anyone that might be able to help with new ones would be great.

Where have you searched for them so far, Perp?

So far the obvious.  Ebay.  Max BMW.  Then a couple dealers in Wisconsin.  Then I contacted bsk speed works in the UK.  They said they didn't have any and BMW Germany doesn't either.  The dealers I spoke to said that there aren't any in the world lol.  So now I'm looking at either swapping in newer style connecting rods and bolts or maybe having them custom made.  I guess I could get an 1100RS engine used and start over...  In some ways cheaper than new connecting rods.

This entry from realoem indicates the 384 bolts will work in your engine, and that makes sense. BMW is often revising parts and the revisions have backward compatibility. Try asking about those.

I've been wondering if those would work.  From the pictures I've found it looks like they might.  Measurements say they are 4mm too long though.  Order one and find out I guess.

Part ordered.  May as well delete this topic.  I'll update it over in my build post.
