Does that mean Max didn't respond to you, they responded that none are available, they responded that there was a long waiting period before you'd get one, or that you're just despondent in general?

Laitch, they responded that they were no longer available.  They really do provide great service there, I have used them for many, many new parts.  Real bummer.

There used to be two motorcycle salvage yards within 100 miles of me- both are long gone.
The last gasp option might be adapting coils from another brand of four cylinder motorcycle.  Perhaps even four separate car coils if they are small enough.
Adapting your spark plug leads is a different story.  Long years ago I tried a set of Luftmeister spark plug leads that were built like automotive style but they had a intermittent misfire so I reinstalled the stockers.

Frank I was thinking that there must be a way to accomplish this.  What does one do when used ones can't be had?  Not that I am the one to do it, I am hoping to just get my bike working again.  Salvage yards used to be my playground and back many years ago I used to pull parts for my old Triumph car from a salvage yard near Austin.  That was when I was in college.

Update:  I was able to source a set of used coils on the auction site.   They were the old style like I already have, and they were listed as "ignition packs" on the site so not easily found in a traditional search for BMW K coils.  Still holding out on some of the newer coils with the red lugs, but these tested OK so I put 1 of them on the bike to replace the one testing bad. 

She fires right up and runs...took her around the block and much better as I was hoping.  I do think I have another problem to look into and I don't think the bike was doing this before.  When I "blip" the throttle from idle there seems to be a slight hesitation.  I am pretty sure that is new.  I think this needs further investigation.

When throttle blipping Bricks can be slow to react due to the airflow meter requiring time to adjust. On the road it shouldn't cause a drama.

K75s lag coming off idle. I set my idles in the 1100-1200 range to mitigate that.
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

What you are seeing is the lag in the barn door air sensor.  It takes a bit of time for the vacuum in the cylinders to pull it open and tell the ECU to send more fuel.  Just rolling on the throttle coming off idle is the way to go. 

Remember, this is first generation electronic fuel injection control technology that is going on 40 years old.  The Motronic eliminated the barn door and as a result the response when blipping the throttle is much faster on the 4 valve bikes.

Thanks for the advice guys.  Probably best to just ride her around for a while and enjoy.  Wish it wasn't so darn HOT.
