Help identifying Air/Fuel Vacuum hose

Hey you beautiful people,

It's been a long time since I've posted -- I've missed you all dearly. Today I stopped at an auto parts store to replace a hose on my K75s that was falling a F*ckin' part.  Now I was foolish and pulled it off the bike to show them the size of the line to replace it then and there, which resulted in the line falling apart.  To push it further they said -- sorry bud you're shit outta luck we don't carry anything like that.  Now I've been scouring my Clymer and MAX BMW and can't find this proprietary line.  I was hoping you beautiful folks may know it's name or point me in the direction of a vendor of choice.  Pics attached for reference

If it's not too much to ask, could you educate a young and dumb brick-wrencher? The science behind this vacuum tube, I understand it helps regulate air intake/gasoline regulation -- but what is the exact function(s) the vacuum tube performs:?
 air regulation/intake as well as providing balance of delivery? (best guess)

The infamous "Z" tube connects the crankcase to the airbox to feed blow by gases into the cylinders to be burned.  It has a negative pressure(vacuum) generated by the suction of the cylinder's intake stroke. 

When the tube breaks down and begins to leak, it allows air that is not measured by the airflow sensor into the engine.  Because it wasn't measured, this air has no fuel injected for it, creating a lean mixture that results in poor idle and mid-range performance, especially on acceleration. 

One of the first things many of us do to a "new" bike is replace that tube, it's a known troublemaker.

Interesting - I never really thought that through.  I wonder. Is this the same reason that the bike runs so poorly if the oil filler cap is off? It allows air in that then gets sucked up that little tube?
