frankenstein cafe build

Hey everyone, my name is kyle and im out in california. I just picked up a 1993 k1100 with 89k on and i got it for a dirty cafe style build. It's the first bike i have ever owned (not ridden, i am not an amateur so please don't expect to talk to a know nothing) and i want to make it very simple and very well handling and fun to ride. I'm stripping the body pieces and selling them on ebay and/or craigs list but anyone on here that would like to snatch the fairings up, i will give first dibs. But is there anybody here who can help me with how to remove the handle bar warmers and front fairing with the headlight? i want to keep the headlight for now to give it a mid 80's look till i find a good light set.
Any constructive criticism and good ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The fairing mounts to it's bracket and then the headlight mounts to the fairing.

LT or RS?

The heated grips are elements between the grip rubber and the tube.  The wiring goes though the handlebars and out a hole it the middle of the front of the handlebars.  Follow those wires to a white connector under the tank.  Using a needle or something you need to pop the tangs that hold the terminals in.

now that i've taken off the front fairing, does anyone have an idea for a front headlight from another bike that would be a simple install?

Duct tape, safety wire, and a trip to the junkyard are your friends. :P

I second the replica /2 lights. Badass.

Here's an option for the old school look. They also sell adapter brackets that bolt up to most bikes. Fork mounted.

Be me, I would go with twin headlights, especially for a street fighter/cafe image factor. You'll most likely have to fab your own mounting brackets. Any good welding shop is capable of that task.
