Hey all!

Just picked myself up a '94 K1100LT with 59xxx on the ODO.
I got it from a guy out on the coast for 2k.
I was able to ride it 264 miles home and all I had to do was put gas in it with my hands being nice and toasty and my windscreen adjusted to perfection 

She's missing some fairing parts and a few odds n ends but it sure feels like a happy bike.

I rode it to work next day and saw that my boot was torn on the rear-most runner coming out of the airbox.
So.. now she's in the shop in pieces.
Already have the injectors getting refurbished, new throttle body-manifold boots ordered, manifold o-rings ordered, gonna pick up some new fuel line and clamps today.

During disassembly, I tried to spin the fan blades. Feels like I got a siezed fan motor and the blades are just turning on the shaft. Gonna get a SPAL 6.5" as I've seen others do.

I also got some signs of age on the "throttle body vacuum distribution tube" part# 11151461834
Looks like the best price I can find is $150 for it.
Gonna get creative with shoe goo and some old bike inner-tube/heat shrink and see how it goes. Same on the air box runner.

She's missing some fairing parts, a temp guage, and fun enough the battery/ecu mounting bracket as well (gonna fab up something simple to hold them both). ABS is also acting up.. oh well

All in all I could've gotten one more complete than this but I'm happy with it and I'm looking forward to giving it a new lease on life.

Also got my Carbtune pro 4 on the way. Since I'm sure my TB's are gonna be just a hair off once I'm all done.

Bonuses are the Ohlins rear shock and BMW factory lower seat (thanks frankenduck for the info!). I'm 5'10 and as this is my first bike over 400lbs, I appreciate the lower height.

Welcome!  It sounds like you are well on your way to getting your machine sorted.

Don't worry too much about parts, there seems to be a pretty good supply of usable K1100 parts on eBay.  Currently, the LT is not one of the more popular bikes in stock trim, and there are a lot of "customizers" hacking them up to make cafe bikes.  This results in lots of fairing parts being available on the used market.

If you can't find a used intake balance manifold on eBay, you can repair the crack with silicone self-amalgamating tape.

That looks like the stuff I need. Was a little concerned about the 180°F max temp on the shoe goo.
500°F gives a bit better margin of safety.

No kidding there's a blue one that got dismantled and they're selling all the LT parts, essentially. It was a beautiful bike
I don't even really want to buy the fairing I need because the paint is really nice and I'd be repainting it for my bike

Do you just need the lowers, or is the radiator cowl missing too? 

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about the color.  If you are willing to wait a little while, it's a very good chance the color you need will come up on eBay. 

Your bike looks like it is gray.  I don't know which color code it has, but there are some parts on eBay that look like they might match.  They look like they are color code 679.  I'd check with the seller to see if they can confirm the color code and if they'll combine shipping.

Just the lower right fairing, and maybe a belly pan & front tire rear fender... I kinda like the look its got as is, though!
But shoot that looks like my guy! He's got some of the plastic pieces I'm missing too to combine the shipping.

Last night I went down a rabbit hole and re-did all the wiring connections under the tank... found out why the hazards aren't working!
No luck on the ABS fault yet though. I do have the battery on a tender right now. I'm gonna give the ABS another reset and rule that out once its back on the road.

I shouldve probably noticed that when I took the left side off!
But good call, will do. I think I got the brackets I need but it would be sweet if it got delivered with all the screws and their little rubber bushings they have.

Looks like you also need a right side engine bar.  That needs a bracket at the bottom to mount it to the bottom of the oil sump. Try to find a right side engine bar that includes that bracket. That bracket is somewhat rare and no longer available from BMW.

Thanks though, I wasn't thinking about the mounting bracket for engine bars. Just the fairings.
I'm definitely gonna need that.
Saw a pristine pair on ebay, might go that route and just sell my left bar.

The BMW dealer in my area is having a swap meet this Saturday.
I'm gonna wait til I check that out just in case and then get ordering on the cosmetics.
Really hoping to get lucky on some cases, those seem to be pretty hard to come by in a matching set that isn't blown apart.

The plan for now is get the fuel/air, fan retrofit, and my battery/ecu mount sorted. Then some fresh tires, a new front at least, and ride it til it's 100° outside. Then I'll get to greasin'
