Light grease for the throttle "chain"
« on: February 04, 2022, 09:51:54 PM »
Hi all!
i would like to know what kind of grease can i use for the throttle "chain", and to lubricate the handlebar.
In my dismantling i've seen a light grey grease.
What brand and type can you recomend?
Thanks!!

I use aerosol silicone in my throttles. Makes them return much better. Brand doesn't matter.

Hi!
i've not find silicone spray here...
So i cleaned all the parts, and use white litium grease.
The throttle returned ok, but when i accelerate, i feel the tooth working inside, like: "cli clic clic clic ( no noise, just tactil sensation)
i thought the grease was not dense enough, so i cleaned all and i applied a more dense grease...
Same feeling, but the throttle doesn't returned anymore....sticky..
I cleaned again, and i returned to White lithium.
So no it returns freely, but i feel the "steps"
examining the tooths i see they have a little wear, but i don't remember that feeling in the past prior to let the bike sleeps..
Pulling the cable by hand is easy, and no friction. the throttle bodies moves freely.

Where can be the problem?

Maybe your memory isn't what it used to be.  :laughing4-giggles:

Are the marks on the throttle tube gear and the throttle cable gear in alignment? Is the throttle gear cover aligned correctly and screwed down securely?

As long at it both easily twists fully and also snaps back smoothly it is working ok.

Ok
When At full throttle the butterfly bodies are full open.
When I close gas I hear the click and I’ve minimal “play in the throttle”
That seems good calibrated. Just the “feeling” is not optimal.
I”ll dismantle again to see
Thanks

Maybe , as the old song suggests:
🎵you've lost that loving feeling
Bring back that lovin' feelin'
'Cause it's gone, gone, gone🎵

I’ll played back in the garage, to see if i can find it again when dismantling!
