95 k11 lt naked bike, relocated everything out of the triangle, airbox delete, muffler chopped for now.
Bike was running amazing, then during my escapades to move everything around I misaligned the TPS with some amount of pressure while relocating the motronic. Started bike, incredibly high idle. adjusted tps to readout .375 volts approx, now running rich, backfiring, cat glowing red if idle more than a couple minutes, plugs black and sooty on cylinder 1&2. injectors ohm out good, tps ohms out good.... now here is where i think i have a problem:
the choke shim when fully engaged does not touch the throttle shaft roller and my main throttle set screw does not seat on its brass seat on the inner rail. I cannot for the life of me find a hangup... if i remove the inner rail on the TB's and apply a little downward pressure to the main throttle my butterflys will close a bit more until my idle speed increases.
Me thinks its sticking open somehow somewhere and I cant find it. I have not touched any screws except the tps. I have a manometer and feeler gauges ready to do valve and synch but would like to achieve some semblance of decent idle and no backfire before I do that.
Can someone confirm the throttle main idle screw does indeed fully seat against the brass rivet/insert on the inner throttle body rail?
Any ideas on where to look for hangups?
Also, when I say I bumped TPS I more or less applied some constant pressure against the inside of it while trying to mount the ECU to the front face of the relay box. No hammers or whacky stuff.
