Reaching out to the collective mind here for advice and justification on a loaded question:
Is it worth replacing my fully functional S forks with the 92+ Showas, and why?
I keep hearing/reading here and elsewhere that the Showa's are better, but I can't seem to find much hard info as to why.
My S forks feel fine to me with 7.5w Motul, but I don't have much in the way of comparison---I've ridden only this bike since I bought it in '08, with an R65 before it.
I don't ride especially aggressively, but my commute is ~200 mile round trip on 95 from DC to southeastern PA...so anything that smooths out the ride is welcome. I've already added a Wilbers rear shock, which made a world of difference.
Wondering if this is a 'grass is greener on the other side' sort of situation, or if the Showa's (or Showa's + emulators) really are that much better.
Thanks!
