WTB - Instrument Cluster for 92 K75
« on: August 30, 2021, 03:23:05 PM »
First time poster -
I just got a 92 K75 as my "get back into motorcycling" bike. It's in good shape and runs fine, but the odometer is toast. I need a working cluster - anybody have one?

Welcome!  Is the odometer the only thing in the cluster that doesn't work?  If so, there are sources for the gears that make it work.  They were made from what appears to be very sharp cheddar cheese, and have a habit of loosing teeth.

You can rebuild you cluster in an evening for about a hundred bucks.  A used cluster can sometimes be had for that amount, but usually they cost more.  If you aren't in a big hurry, you can watch eBay for parts a Cafe builder is getting rid of.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice! It is just the odometer. I found the how to on odometergears.com and it looks do-able, so I shall pursue that as a project for the winter!

Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

I replaced the gears in my '93 a few years ago with a set from Odometer Gears.  Because Jeff is just down the road I dropped by and saw his operation to pick them up. Easy to replace and I should never have to do it again, something I would probably have to do with a replacement as they are all about the same age.
