Fork seal replacement roadblock.

Finally getting around to replacingthe fork seals on my 93K 11. Can’t ride until I get this done and get some new brake pads in as the existing ones are covered with oil All went well getting the forks off ,biggest difficulty was getting  the radio box out ,one of the three clips holding it in didn’t want to release but I finally got it out. I can’t get the snap ring to budge. Any tricks on getting this out. I’ve got some penetrating oil sitting in there ,t seems you need to get something like a small screwdriver and pry one of the ends but I can’t get it to Budge.  It would have been nice for it to be one of those snap rings with the two holes so you can use the snap ring pliers but BMW seems to like to put these little challenges in our way.

Any tricks on getting this out. I’ve got some penetrating oil sitting in there ,t seems you need to get something like a small screwdriver and pry one of the ends but I can’t get it to Budge.

Heat up the area with a hairdryer, apply Liquid Wrench. A small screwdriver or pick—everybody should have a set of picks for removing o-rings—will get behind one of the tips of the ring then push it along beneath the ring as you pry it inward away from its groove. Be assertive. You'll figure it out.

I use one tiny screwdriver at the split to keep it from rotating and then another spring it free. Hard to describe the exact technique.

I was using a pic but it’s really a medical device And is a little too flexible. I can almost get it far enough out to get something behind it but it keeps popping back in I’ll keep at it thanks for the advice.
Ps. I ordered a pick set, still have to do the seals on my R. Also will install boots so hopefully will not have to do it again , at least for a while.

finally got the snap ring out. It was a little rusty, but with a  little heat and perseverance I got it out, and back together. Hopefully the other one will cooperate tomorrow.

The other side was easy peasy. The snap ring was not totally seated so one end was already out of the groove. Was able to get a small screwdriver behind it and out it came.
