FS: 1985 K100RS (FYK) SOLD!!!!!
« on: April 07, 2021, 04:01:36 PM »
Greetings all,
I am down-sizing, my dilemma is someone else's good fortune.
If you, or someone you know, might be searching for a First Year K that has been well maintained look no further! With a wee bit of effort this could be a trophy winning show-bike. It still has all the original stickers applied when built.

I am the second owner, have owned this bike since 1989. The original owner bought it new in 1985 at Mar's BMW and Yamaha, Newport News, VA. They are long gone. I knew the original owner. He rode it for approximately 400 miles then parked it in his barn, no joke. The bike now has 207,000 miles, still starts right up and runs as new, truly.
I digress........

Along with the bike comes enough parts, assemblies, cables, switches, wheels, fuel tank, forks, etc, etc to build another bike. Some NOS and others properly cleaned and stored. This includes all electronics, gauges, relays and other bits. Too much to list individually.
Also including a complete drive-train (engine, tranny, drive shaft and final drive) off of another 85 that had 40,000 miles on odometer. These parts come from an insurance wreck, bike was "totaled" due to front end and extensive fairing damage.
All luggage included: top case, side bags with liners and multivaro-tankbag with extensions and rain cover.
I have installed/added:
stainless steel brake lines
teleflex fork brace
eastern beaver headlamp relay kit
progressive springs in forks
progressive rear shock (rebuildable)
battery disconnect switch
cooling fan switch
2 12VDC accessory plug outlets
flashing LED brake-light bar.

the bike is mechanically sound, I'd have no reservation about getting on and heading anywhere in the country.
Cosmetics is another issue, this is not a "show bike". I rode it, kept it clean, seldom polished it, garaged when not on the road. No dents or major dings but it could use a paint job.

I am selling this as a package only, as I said: "I'm down-sizing " so this will go a long way in clearing out the garage.

$1750.00 takes it all. This price includes delivery within 300 miles of Richmond, VA.
$1500.00, you come and get it.
I am willing to negotiate delivery further afield for a price.

All the pictures you may want to serious inquiries.

Koapono is as conscientious a Brick rider as ever was. Do yourself a favor and help unburden him from this particular weight of his worldly goods then ride happily into the sunset.  icon_cheers

thanks Laitch.
Someone, somewhere, someday will be a happy K-owner.
I believe this particular K was built neath a magical full moon by Bavarian elf-folk.
If I was'nt old and decrepit I'd hang on to it but the 1100LT is more my riding style now.

cheers

So sad what would Ken say, you know he's looking down and smiling? I can truly say that Koapono is a mechanical mastermind and that bike is definitely the most dependable road ready scooter you will ever have the honor of owning!
