11-12-04: Sunday Ride - 74 & 243 Loop
« on: December 05, 2011, 12:31:10 PM »
It was a little nippy up high yesterday afternoon but I decided to take a nice 150 mile loop ride on 74 and 243, two very nice local roads.

Starting up the 74 granny knot:

Looking west from the granny knot:

Panorama from Cahuilla Tewanet vista point:

Mountains off to the side near Pinyon:

Near Hemet Lake:

Odometer fun:

Yeehaw near Mountain Center:

Heading into Hemet:

243 is 28 miles of uphill twisties and sweepers.

My K1100RS is very much at home on this road:

Morongo Casino on I-10 in the background:

The Remus exhaust I installed a little while back:

Panorama of the valley below:

It was in the high 30s in Idyllwild.  My hands were getting pretty cold so I stopped here to put my winter gloves on:

The bottom of the granny knot and the Coachella Valley lighting up as the sun set:

That is all....  carry on....
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

I'm VERY happy with it.  :riding: It looks nice, sounds great and the amount of noise it puts out is just right.  I tried a Staintune on my K75 for a while but when accelerating it was too loud for listening to my Nano so I went back to stock.  This Remus is perfect in that regard as I can just hear it. :2thumbup:

Great ride, I live in San Jacinto so I get to do it often. Maybe I'll see you up there one day.

Since Firday was my last day to  be able to lanesplit and ride twisties in SoCal I did this same loop again on Friday afternoon.

Heading up to the granny knot.  Despite being Friday afternoon I had the granny knot all to myself all of the way up.

Riding down to Hemet:

Sun shining off of Lake Elsinore from 243:

Usually there's some snow up there this time of year:

Instead of on my deck in Seattle like it is this afternoon:
