RS Turn signal / mirror install

Some ding dong pushed the bike off the center stand then while throwing his right leg over, caught the side bag, lost balance, and set the bike down on it's side thus popping off the turn signal / mirror housing.  Regardless of the fact that the said ding dong looked remarkably like me I now need to know how to put it back on.

There are two, two wire connectors and I connected the black and I believe the white isn't used.  The three point mounts have me a little puzzled since they have to seat in the cups.  Do I just line them up and then push down over wings knowing they will spread out or is there some kind of twist involved? Do I take the mirror out of the housing first then put the mirror back in last?

The clamps on the mirror are engaged by pushing them over the studs on the fairing.  I have the best success by getting them on one corner at a time.  I think the sequence that works for me is to do the front first, then the top, followed by the lower.  It's tricky, so take your time.  I figure it takes me a couple minutes of fooling around to get one on. 

Make very sure all of them are fully engaged by trying to rock the mirror.  If any of them are not fully attached the mirror pod will easily come off.  Put the glass in the pod before you put it on the bike.  Make sure the glass is secure by smacking the pod down on a piece of carpet with a bit of authority.  The glass should not come out.  Didn't do it on my first bike and wound up losing the glass the first time I took the bike out.

About the clamps.  They lose a lot of grip over the years.  It's a very good idea to replace them before you lose the whole mirror.  I was amazed at how firmly the mirror pod was attached with the new clamps.  It's also a very good idea to attach the mirror to the fairing with a short wire lanyard made from stranded steel fishing leader.
