Enchanted Circle Route

Cool. Johnny's Gmap insertion instructions worked, after only two tries!

Ready for cool weather.

ready to leave our humble Earthome on the mesa west of Taos.

Our Driveway, locally known as "The Road of Woe".

Main road out from our 'hood, aka "Two Peaks", with mystical Taos Mountain dominating the valley.

Heading north on NM522, gently rolling curves through valle de Hondo and on to Questa.

Having turned east onto NM38 in Questa, we see The Sign That We Like, then enjoy what it foretells.

Not being the most bold of riders, I have yet to take vid or pics while negotiating twisty-ness. Maybe someday when I have achieved the status of "Proficient Motobricker".

Red River Canyon

Red River ski area. Not the most inspiring of hills in the area, I've only skied it once and was decidedly underwhelmed.

Bobcat Pass, the high point on this loop.

Wheeler Peak in the Sangre de Christo Mtns. World Renowned Taos Ski Valley (my home hill) lies just beyond the ridgeline.

Entering the Moreno Valley, Eagle Nest Baldy ahead.

Are we having fun yet? Oh Yeah!

Moreno Valley is about 30mi long - from the north:

From the south:

Many traveling this route visit this unusual structure, the Vietnam Veterans National Memorial. As interesting on the inside as out, but I didn't take time to go in today.

My camera started acting funky right about then, so I couldn't show ya the best part of the whole route, which lies between Angel fire and the top of Taos Canyon. Fairly steep ascent, long stretch of hairpins and just sharp, even radius curves of twisti-liciousness, Oh Yeah!
No more pics until I got to Taos, for the requisite Burger at the End of the Trail at Eske's, our local Brewpub.

Had a Green Chili Cheeseburger, a New Mexico favorite. Eske's version is pretty good, should've asked for rare n' bloody, but medium was ok. I passed on the homemade fries though.

Great late season day tour! maybe one or two more before the snow really starts flyin'.
Thanks fellow Motobrickers for indulging me by getting this far without falling asleep. Hope to ride with y'all someday...

Looks like a good winter ride.  Thanks for posting.

What windscreen is that?
Once I had a Collie pup. Dug a hole and covered him up. Now I sit there by the hour. Waiting for a Collie-flower.

No idea on the windscreen, it was gifted to me by a friend the other day who had it on his older GS80 - sure like it though. I'd ridden utterly naked bikes all my life, and even that small piece o plexi makes a huge diff on chilly days.

Thanks for the RR and I REALLY like your driveway. Gotta cut down on the door to door salesmen. ;)
