Bargain Quantum Fuel pump mounting kits.
« on: July 11, 2020, 02:32:36 PM »
Bargain a few of us have just purchased Quantum fuel pump mounting kits. The kit consists of the rubber damper the plastic damper mount, filter basket,  flex hose, fuel filter, pump electrical crimp terminals, terminal boots and two cable ties. The whole kit was $55.00 Au shipped even cheaper in the US. A couple of more mates are now wanting to purchase the kits but I can't seem to find them online any more. They have pumps and filter baskets and flex hose in various lengths but no kits that I can find. The part number on the box is HFP-K437. We have fitted one part kit damper, mount and filter basket, the quality seems good and it fitted with no problems. I'll take some pictures later today and post.
Regards Martin.

Martin, the problem is that nothing is actually made in the USA anymore.

Except for vehicle registration license plates. US labor and manufacturing is always ready to step up for that job.  :laughing4-giggles:

Gryph there is nothing much made in OZ anymore. Ford, GM and Toyota have all pulled out of manufacturing in OZ along with a lot of domestic goods manufacturers. Our government is now realizing the folly of tying ourselves to China, whether we can pull ourselves out of the hole remains to be seen. Unfortunately at times there is no other choice than to buy Chinese made as they have cornered the market. I did however think the fuel pump kits were American but I can't find out any reference as to where they originated.

Not as cheap, don't know country of origin, but this: https://www.euromotoelectrics.com/product-p/fpk-576edl.htm

Our 2-year-old central home air conditioner failed to run on a 102-degree (F) day yesterday thanks to the failure of a chinese-made capacitor.  Repairman installed a USA-made replacement.  I avoid Chinese parts whenever possible, although it's hard to do these days.

It's getting harder to tell where they're made these day's. A lot of parts don't have any markings and the web sites don't say where they're made. Even if they're made in your particular country a lot of times they will contain foreign components.
