Before it's all over I'd like to equip my C with an Iconic 22L.
I've been collecting all the pieces for a few months and I've come to that one last thing.
I do my best to find the best used parts to bolt up, hoping someone has one in excess of their needs.
God Bless you all and stay safe out there. Strange days indeed.

Sadly no response other than yours.
I know somebody must have at least one squirreled away.

They are listed on various BMW dealer sites, I may have to go retail and pay $67.00!

I had to do that as well. Now that I have it installed, it is difficult enough to remove, that if lazy or in a hurry, you leave the thing under the aluminum carrier even w/o the box. And then, in an unlucky bump, it falls off while you are running. Otherwise I cannot explain the scarcity.

I chased a complete 22 Lt top box for years. Finally got one at a reasonable price followed by one at a ridiculously cheap price followed by one included in a bundle buy. From what I can gather they get pulled off and stored, bits get separated and then lost. The last one doesn't have the locking pin, but it's easy to make one. There seems to be a lot of boxes around without plates and pins. You might stand a better chance of scoring a complete one and keeping the best box and selling off the other or keeping it for a backup. I know I wouldn't like to split my spares up as it makes them harder to sell. At one stage due to the lack of mounting plates I was going to look at having them cast in aluminium  and making the cam lock in steel at the Trades Guild, but with the work involved they wouldn't have been economical. If your not too fussed about looks it wouldn't be that hard to cobble up a home brewed mount.

That is exactly what happened to the gentleman that sold me mine.

I had thought there would be plenty of damaged boxes and there would be more orphaned plates.
The box I have is near perfect and I have rekeyed the lock.

There's always that stimulus money coming that would help Max BMW and the US economy.

No real hurry here, and I enjoy a good hunt! 112350

It wouldn't be hard to make one if you have a welder and basic workshop equipment.

Before my retirement I had access to a complete shop, including an excellent welder, a Filipino.
Lathe, brake, shear, plasma cutter. All I had to do is fabricate an item, jig and tack it up and then hand it over to him for
the finish welds. Nothing like that now, just full mechanical capabilities for my various internal combustion relics here at home.

If like Martin you have access to the Trades Guild machine shop should be an easy build otherwise for US$67 seems well spent
