K-bike wheel interchangeability

My 1985 K100 wheels are not easy to clean. Would the newer three-spoke wheels be a direct bolt-up or is there some other issue that would prevent using them on the early bikes?

If you get 3-spokes from a 2V K then they'll just bolt up. Same rotors, axle, calipers, forks, etc... Might need some different axle spacers on the front though.
