K1100 with GSXR front end turning radius issues

Hello I have a modified K1100 with a 2007 gsxr 600 front end.  The low offset triple trees seem to give the bike a terrible turn radius, I was wondering if anyone else with a gsxr front end had similar issues and how they sovled it. The front shocks hit the tank before the clip ons or anything else so we had to put stoppers right before that.

I've read up on the offset of K1100 original triple trees and it seems (if I am not mistaken) that it should be 45mm.  The current offset seems to be in the 28-300 mm range.  I was told it is advisable to push out the offset on gsxr front end with a 17" front tire.

I'm trying to figure out what other options there may be or how others have solved the issue.  Thanks for any help.

Welcome!  Can't help you, I leave my bikes pretty much as the engineers designed them.  With the exception of the rear shock and fork springs, they seem to work pretty well for me the way they left the factory.

Welcome! Put the year of your moto in signature, too. Start at thread in the Custom section, post some photos of the moto and some details about it.

There is a lot of information about this subject on the Web. Read from this thread for an overview. The moto being discussed is a K100 but the principles and outcomes involved are relevant.

did the GSXR conversion on his K75. I believe he bought aftermarket triple tree specific for the K75 GSXR setup from here

Thank you so much for the replies, those threads were very helpful.  Looks like a 45mm offset triple tree is what most have used.  This does change the geometry a bit a and pushed the forks forward, which is not great with a smaller tire than stock, but seems the only viable way.
