WTB 1995 K1100RS Lefthand Saddle Bag Lid
« on: November 13, 2019, 12:38:57 PM »
I need a replacement saddle bag lid for a 95 K1100RS.  I know I'll have to have it painted probably so if you have something please let me know.

My current one has a hole in it.

Have over 200,000 miles on previous K100RS's and never had a bag pop open.  By the time I figured out "What the hell is that feeling?  Am I having a flat?" thing I finally got to a pull off place and Wala, strong wind had caught the open bag and took it down for some grindin' down the highway.  They had just resurfaced this part of highway with the big black double ought rock and it did not take long to scrape this big ole hole.
Rider error for mot locking the bag lid I guess.  Never saw the need before now.

Anyone have a bag lid or complete bag?

Have you considered getting it repaired, either professionally, or do it yourself. Find a business that does plastic welding.  New or secondhand catches are available.

Once it's been repaired and repainted it  would only be visible from the inside. While it can be done using the correct plastic rods and a  soldering iron, a professional would do it using the correct heating tool and inert gas. They might even finish it to the point of painting.

I can recall needing a right side fairing lower and finding dozens of left side lowers.  How the heck do you take out the lower without getting the case???

Considering the Bricks proclivity for going down on the RH side, you'd think there would be an abundance of LH tragkorbs around. After having my fully locked on LH tragkorb come off. I am now in the process of restoration  repairing the scratches and gouges after it ground it's way down the road. I managed to get rid of the deep gouges with careful sanding using a medium grade paper on an orbital sander. Further finishing off will have to wait as I'm banned from the workshop and riding for at least a week, due to minor surgery. I'll post restoration piccies at a later date.

You'd better decide quickly about this one.
