HATE to be the bearer of bad news but it DOES matter !

Specifically front,rear or ABS equipped.

Out of curiosity why only one unless it's the rear of course ?

We don't mean to make light of your predicament.  The front rotors on my K75 are petty much toast too.

Sorry guys, I do appreciate your input.  Here's the story.  I bought the bike from its 3rd owner.  Had a pre purchase inspection done at Motoghost, a strictly BMW mechanical shop only in Phoenix; they have the very best reputation.  The owner took my bike for a test ride and noticed a pulsing in the front brake, checked it out and determined that the left rotor was warped.  How or why I don't know; the right one was fine.  Appreciate your help.

Sorry, Johnny, forgot to answer your question.  My bike is an '88 K75 C.  My mechanic said any K bike front rotor, non ABS will fit.

Unless money is a serious consideration, I'd seriously consider getting two new rotors & pad sets.  (seriously, consider it, yeesh did I write that?) Assuming they've both been replaced together in the past, if one is bad, the other is probably not far behind.

Of course I wrote that before calling the local dealer to get a price quote on rotors for my K75.  I don't think they have the correct information.  They wanted $491 each for floating disks (plus more for the buttons), which the K75 does not have. 

EBC has them for $225 each, full list.

I'll probably check an independent mechanic I know who will _know_ they're not floating disks.

Strongly consider EBC Pro Lite rotors rather than a OEM BMW model.

Improved engineering, NOT too pricey.

I R&R a 1993 K 75S with a SS line, EBC pads & rotors up front for a rider in NYC last winter. He was really happy with the outcome.  Smooth and predictable almost comparable to Harrison which is King of Mountain for brake tech.

FWIW, the pulse may be something else ___________.  Hard deposits can develop on the rotor mostly from folks who are real gentle on the brakes, read stoppies are your friend. Unusual for a rotor to warp unless you really heat it up for long periods of time.

Check that the pistons are fully retracting. Rear Brembo on the 2 valve series is especially prone to some slight drag. New pads help but the left side seems to wear at a faster rate for some unknown reason.   Grease the slider pins !
