Maybe I'm going deaf but I've never heard any disparaging words about my Brick. The couple of exceptions were a couple of mates who used to change bikes every couple of years. They wanted to know why I didn't update and I would just smile and answer no need to. They have long since given up riding due to various reasons, too expensive, safety, health. I only have one mate still riding from the good old days and he's in Vic and he just rides occasionally. His choice of ride is a Buell Lightning. The guy across the road was stunned to find out my Brick is 26 years old, he thought it was a lot newer.

Yes, I agree. A mate of mine had a payout and bought himself a new Yamaha MT something or other. It’s a 700cc, looks and feels like a 250 in my opinion. He takes the pi££ out of my 37 year old CX and says I should get something modern.
Then I bought the k75!
I told him that it’s 5 years younger than the cx, it has 2 computer things and fuel injection, Hell, the sidestand even goes up when you pull in the clutch! How much modern can you get?
The only other bike that did that at the time was a GPZ600, I think!
After the money I have spent on both bikes, it’s equal (almost) to the cost of his bike. (Well, about £1500 cheaper). To be honest, I like the silliness and reliability of the cx cafe, and the anti vibe, weird sound of the K!
I feel that I’m better off with choice of 2 bikes, than only 1.
And I’m old, compared to my 9,15 and 17 year old boys!
Lol
