I've found that my local BMW dealer will sell and cut the keys I need.  While you may be able to find the blanks there are only certain key shops to cut those. Great success with Morton's and Bob's BMW.

Most good locksmiths in OZ will cut them. However some of the smaller kiosk type ones can't or won't do steel keys. I've also been told locksmiths in OZ can't legally sell you blank keys.

Thanks for the replies, my local BMW shop (Max's) does not cut, and the beemer version are $21 each, a bit steep for  me, and they can send out an order using my key code to get a cut straight key for only $ 33                      yawl
