Caliper rebuild kits

Is it still possible to buy caliper rebuild kits for the 2-valve non-ABS K100? Any suggestions where to look?

I'd look in Europe...

Unless you can find someone with NOS, you most likely won't find any in the US anymore for sale to the end user.
Sales have been restricted by a judicial judgement, no longer allowed outside of BMW dealer supply chain(and you know how they can be about old bikes sometimes)

MAX BMW has single pot repair kits listed for K75 and K100. My experience with MAX is that if a part is listed as available and I order it, I'll receive it.

Thanks,  Scott and Latch. What happened to Max's fiche? It's so user-friendly now that I can't understand it.  Anyway I might have a line on brake parts from some Ducati guys in Cali. I'll keep you posted.

It's had the same looks for the last five years I've been using it. Maybe it's your phone that's different, if that's what you're using to access it. Be certain you're clicking on Classic Parts Fiche in the menu.

The MaxBMW fiche lists the rebuild kits at a, for BMW, almost ridiculously reasonable price of $39.03.

Didn't say that Max can't sell them, they are a BMW dealer and are allowed to IF they choose to.
Some dealers will only sell the rebuild kit if they do the rebuild in-house.
Some dealers will only sell the whole caliper/master cylinder new.
It is all dependent on how much liability the dealer is willing to expose themselves to.

If you try to buy from Beemer Boneyard, or other 3rd party bike parts houses they will sell out existing stock on hand but are not allowed to buy replacement stock per the court judgement against Magura.

It is my understanding that this only affects sales in the USA. Sales in Europe are not covered by the lawsuit.

Dang now I'm afraid I'm gonna get flamed for asking a question I could have answered myself. I had read (on Beemer Boneyard maybe?) that these things were NLA in the USA, because litigation. Then Max gave me a scare with this user-friendly parts search stuff. But it looks like now I have a plan, thanks Laitch, Scott and Gryph.

I recently purchased three rebuild kits from Max BMW. I have rebuilt all of my calipers on my 85 RS. The procedure is straight forward and relatively easy. Make sure that you clean all the parts well before you put the housings back together. I used white kerosene to clean the caliper housings and then dried them with clean rags my wife gave me. I think each caliper took me about 1.5 hours to complete. Craig

I'll add a word of caution, it is not uncommon for a caliper to not seal when re-assembled after being dis-assembled.
This has been attributed to metal warp, from years of braking/heating cycles.
If at all possible, do the piston seal replacement without splitting the caliper.

You may get lucky and have no leaks, but if the caliper does not seal, you will probably have to replace it.(hence why dealers shy away from doing caliper rebuilds)
