Another spline Question

Hi , I just bought an 95 K75 RT , with 70K miles on it, 

Today was the day I opened splines,  Attached some pictures, I ordered lube from beamer boneyard, I hope I can save them ,  what do you think ?  they seemed ok to me considering its age

Also on another note,  my bike didnt have crank case cover gasket when I opened it,  there was a silicon like substance between metals,  I ordered the gasket but should I be paranoid and change all gaskets  ?

Also on the second picture what is the white plastic thing around the shaft ? I searched the site  couldnt find anything related to it ,

I see a little stepping on the female spline but those have lots of life left in them.  Odd they had the crank cover off, nothing much to service there for normal maintenance.

unless you have leaks, i wouldn't fret too much about your other gaskets.
if later , during routine maintenance, you find sealant has been used instead of a gasket , you can install the correct gasket then.

I think the White plastic thing is a modification carried out by a previous owner. I've heard of it done with nylon. You fox a disc around the shaft and it stops the grease from being thrown up the shaft and helps keep the splines lubed a bit longer. Looking at the picture it may have melted.

I thought the silicone disk modification was done inside the drive shaft rather than on the out side.  Chris Harris did a short video concerning K75 drive shafts, the silicone disk or "plug" was placed inside the shaft to keep grease from traveling up the shaft and keep the splines lubricated.
I'm not sure what the "wrapping" around Bartan's shaft is, maybe he could enlighten us with a few more pics.

As CNRED has implied, a disc placed at the location in the photo will do nothing to retain lubrication within the splines. Whatever that is, it must serve another purpose.

Could the disc be something the P.O. installed to help align the drive shaft to mate up with the final drive when reassembling after a spline lube?  A product of overthinking the alignment of the splines.

Good question, in my experience, they either line up or they don't.

Previous owner was clearly innovative , I have found  a lot of unknown wires in the bike, he did some modes, but at least he cared for the bike, 

I will take more pictures and try to get some of the stuff out ,
