Will this throttle lock work on a K75?
« on: June 05, 2018, 10:33:33 AM »
I have been doing some reading on this site regarding throttle locks, because I want to install one on my 1995 K75. I have read about the Throttlemeister (which I have on another bike), the Schneider Flip-A-Lever, and the OEM throttle friction screw. I currently have aftermarket grips on my bike, but they are in need of replacement. I would like to get OEM BMW grips for the bike, but I am fine with aftermarket rubber grips if that makes the throttle lock installation easier.

I found this throttle lock last night. It looks identical to the one already installed on my suzuki TU250 when I bought it.

Can anyone comment on whether this will work on my 1995 K75? Maybe I need to install the replacement grip with a little bit of room for this device to clamp on? Also, can anyone give feedback on whether this would work with the BMW grips?

If you have installed a seemingly identical unit on your Suzuki then you are in the best position to answer your own question. Take apart the throttle assembly of your K75 and analyze how you'll make the product work with it. It's a different setup than the Universal Fit of the Kawi, Suzuki and Honda universe.

I bought the BMW throttle friction screw (about $10) and installed it just before my 8200 mile trip to Deadhorse and was very happy with it. I can look up the part # if you are interested.
