87 k100rs chain tensioner question
« on: May 29, 2018, 12:50:28 PM »
ok , gents here is the latest question .

I've got a noisy timing chain ! it rattles only under load ( when riding ) rev it in neutral and she is silent. any one else have this happen ?

i replaced all the plastic guides, and the arched tensioner above the hydraulic tensioner .
to no avail . i bought a new chain but saw it was the same length as the old one. so i returned it .

I'm thinking maybe I'm not getting enough oil pressure to the tensioner  ?
Do the springs fail ? do the tensioners go bad ? ( eroded oil journal ?)

I'm at a loss .  everything on my bike is so well maintained and looks great ! so much power! she kills! but that chain rattles its painful! i will not ride till its fixed!
PLEASE HELP WITH YOUR EXPIRIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

How did you measure the old one for wear?

If you're in that deep might as well received place the chain.
