yup.  if one is gone, the rest are too.  they get the same exposure, fluid and are same age.  you can't always see the deterioration by looking at the outside.

all brake, coolant and fuel lines on any bike over 20 years old should be replaced.  they are expendable maint items, not "forever" parts.

Here is a place that you can custom build your own via connectors and length of line needed. I didn't do a quick price check to see where they fall in that perspective. Good luck in St. Catherine's.  It sounds like a great place to go just for the halibut! Love old industrial towns that are still hanging in there with small shops that support the local industry. Now that's Amerika! Ahhh the gold old days.


I am anxiously awaiting your findings, but truth be told, I will probably just spring for the Spieglers. For my bike about $200 On fleabay.

done with galfer... their brick abs kit has 1 wrong fitting... had to have special made at their expense...

then ordered another abs kit and it was wrong... happened with 3 abs kits all 3 times... this is after they said it would be correct from previous times...

still f-ed on their site... was told engineering had to make the change... too busy with other projects...

its whack... now go with spiegler... they are 100% pro...

Will probably be going with the Spieglers.  Whatever I save by going local will be more than offset by the time and expense of finding someone to make them.  I will just be replacing the front hoses this year.  Rear lines look good for now.  I suspect a major part of the problem with the front lines to the calipers was the result of the brakes getting hot with dragging pads. 

Right now, I need to get some warm weather so I can paint, so there is no rush to get lines.

One thing to keep in mind.  I bought what turned out to be the wrong kit from Sportbike Track Gear.  Even though they said it was the correct kit I had to pay a 30% restocking fee($53) :mbird plus $9.95 shipping to return them.  Not really happy about that, especially since the web site says hassle-free returns with no restocking and I bought their standard kit in black and chrome.

Gryph, Bummer about the kit.  Nice to shop on the inter web...and in the comfort of home.....but there in lies one of its biggest downfalls.  Yea, about ready to order my Spiegeler's, even though they are not really in the budget this month.  Thanks again for this post.  It takes some prodding to keep my K up to snuff. Hate the thought of losing my brakes!  Maybe before I drop the dough I will pull a line and see what kind o crap comes out. Just in case they are clear, and I don't need to change um.  Unlikely!

My only complaint about the Spieglers is that the lines are so short and stiff that the only way I have found to get the calipers off when removing the front wheel is to drop out the pads first.  Not a huge deal but worth mentioning.
