Current draw on coils and ECU
« on: March 05, 2018, 05:05:22 PM »
Good day,

My question is: What is the current draw for the coils and ecu at max?

I am currently installing a motogadget M Unit Basic ( blue unit without the blue tooth).

Directions indicate that you should only connect ignition items to this output. The current ( AMPS) output is rated for 10 Amp. I talked to Motogadget, they said the coils and ecu do indeed need to be connected to this output and not to the auxiliary output that are included on the unit.

If it is more than 10 A i will have to build a relay circuit, but I am lazy and it also defeats some of the benifit of this unit.

Thank you in advance to you Brick Heads

Have you seen the M-unit wiring diagram that was posted to the K100-forum not long ago??

Zachross hooked up the ICU/ECU and coils to the AUX output.

So the model version they aew using has a rated output of 16 Amps. Maybe i should plan on putting in a relay until i get the bike up and running and can measure it....

Still open to hearing what the group has to say though.
