Replace brake hoses

Hi guys, I need your help, BMW is trying to steal 1000 euro from me!!!!  :yow

It's about time I replace brake hoses  on my K1100LT. Where can I get a set for it in Europe? Should I put braided hoses on it?

I also need a seal kit for the master cylinder.

I put Spiegler braided lines on my bike and have been very happy with them

That is a US site but you can probably get them in Europe as well, if not the shipping from the US will not be THAT expensive.

The only downside I have found with them is that you cannot take the front calipers off with the brake lines attached except by removing the front wheel first.

I had the local automotive brake shop make me up one in stainless braid. They did it on the spot and just copied the OEM one.

I agree with Martin.  Get a local shop that builds hydraulic lines for industry to build new lines from scratch.  Model them on the old lines.  It will probably be cheaper in the long run than ordering from the USA and importing them into Portugal.

Hi guys, thanks for your suggestions. Ordering from the US is a no no, not because of delivery costs, but VAT (23%) + import taxes & duties. I'd be paying some 40% on top of RRP.

UK/Germany usually have better deals for me. Unless the motorcycle shop round the corner has a better deal... Who knows... I'll check.

Zalle surely you have brake shops that can do lines. I have a neighbor who has a mobile hydraulic hose repair truck and he can do brake lines.

Just had some much needed replacement ones made from a local hydraulic shop. Brought the old ones in and they matched them right up with some new braided line and stainless fittings. $90 USD and 15-20 mins later and I was out the door, best option I could find.
