Mirrors

Sorry to be dense but as the new recipient of a 91 K100rs I am looking for some mirrors that fit the handlebar controls.  One on the right is threaded and the one on the left is not.  All the fairings removed due to damage.  Am Making the bike a simple daily rider and like the upright mirrors anyway. 

Advice appreciated.  Looked around but couldn't find anything.

I'm pretty sure that they are BMW mirrors used on the non-faired bricks.  They are designed to go in the holes in the hand grips.

You may have a replacement perch on one side or the other.

Both sides of my 1986 have non-threaded holes for this style of mirror.

For what it's worth, my 1995 K1100LT is the same way - right side is threaded and left side isn't - I'm thinking about running a stainless bolt into the RH side with a jamb nut and leave it stick out a little bit to hang my helmet on.

I know you said that you like the upright mirrors. However, you might take a look at the Napoleon bar-end mirrors. They are inexpensive and good quality. I find the visibility better than the stock positions, and they are not an impediment to lane-splitting. Plus, it leaves the holes in perches open for mounting other stuff (I use a RAM ball for phone, gps, etc.) Napoleon also make standard-mount mirrors, but I don't think they make one with the long stem needed for the non-threaded perch.

There are 10mm versions of these offered too.

Does anybody have experience with these non-OEM replacements on a mBrick?  Comments on product quality and performance when riding would be superb.

Philosophy: Why did BMW add small round overpriced mirrors on a bike with a rectangular headlight, rectangular fairing and all rectangular design facets?  :dunno2:
