Straight tracking?

Greetings and Salutations,


On my 86 K100RT I had a bit of a wobble that was cured when I replaced the worn tires.  However, now I'm noticing that the bike tracks right unless I either put in a little left input or lean to the left.  IE if I want to go straight down a flat road without holding the bars, I need to shift my body to the left.  Sitting in the middle and the bike will go thru a sweeping right hand turn.  Holding the bars and sitting center, I either need to pull back a tiny bit with my right hand or push with my left to keep a straight line.  Since it happens on either side of the road it's not affected by the crown of the road, so it's not that.


I'm at a loss to what to look at first.  Possibly the forks have twisted in the clamps ever so slightly?

this comes up every once in a while.  I think the weight of the crank and swingarm make the right side a smidgen heavier.  The bigger question is why take your hands off the bars? :mbird

since after new tiors... rotataion arrow first... then id make sure the rear wheel spacer is in there...

then i would remove the front axle and make sure it slides back in effortlessly... tweaked forks can cause axle whack that causes handling whack...

then with the axle in there effortlessly... with the axle bolt tight... id loosten the front axle pinch bolts...

have somebody bounce the front end on the ground several times while on the seat while on center stand with front brake lever pulled...

then tighten the pinch bolts and release the lever..

if that dosent fixt it... guess what... its the new tiors...

Chaos, it's not so I can take my hands off, it's so I don't have to constantly put steering input going down a straight road.  Much like getting an alignment on a car that pulls right...


JO, the tiors are rotating in the right direction and the rear spacer is in there. [/size]I'll try the rest of that this weekend.

I would try a fork alignment next like Johnny says - Delboys garage just did a video on how to do it.
