Maybe bad sprag clutch bike wont start
« on: August 02, 2017, 03:55:19 AM »
Hey guys im trying to start my k75 86, new fuel pump and filter new lines , i got a new battery but went dead after trying to get the bike to start, i have spark i have fuel psi but no start.

The bike has been sitting for 6 years

I got the battery re-charge but now it feels like the starte is working extra hard and not actually moving all the internal mass , i put the bike in 5th and can only rock the wheel a bit back and foward.

Any clues?

Thanks

greetings...

im thinking the starter is turning over the engine for you to have spark...

you said new fuel pump and filter new lines and new battery...

is this the absolute complete exhaustive list of what you have done and others have done to this thing...

Have you cleaned ALL the ground connections?

How many miles on the bike?  What do the starter brushes look like?

Are you absolutely sure that you have fully charged the battery?

What happens when the starter is run with the spark plugs out of the engine?

does it sound like the starter is spinning freely and not turning the engine?  That would be the sprague clutch, sometimes bumping it in gear knocks it free.

Did you ever find where the burned wire was attached?

Have you confirmed that the injectors are spraying. I had to send off the '85's to Mr. Injector for cleaning.

Well change the oil today , re check spark on all plugs and they are working , added a bit of oil like the video and nothing .

Remove the injectors and saw that the firts one had rust bit on the inlet of the injector so im thinking they are not working , was going to have them clean and re build but saw the upgrade injectors on ebay for $60 so im going to switch them hopefully that will work
