Hello :)
First off i would like to say that English is not my main language.
I have some issues with my bike, but it takes some explaining to get to the problem ;-)
My bike - K100LT 1989 - 56.000km
I drove a long trip last night, and suddenly my bike wouldn't tick over, it stalled and i couldn't get it to start at all.
I left it for 30min and came back to see if it would start. It wouldn't at first, but then i tried with the choke on, and it started!
It still didn't tick over, but i could adjust the tick over speed with the choke.
All the way home the bike ran very bad, it wouldn't rev above 4000rpm.
The next morning it took 3 tries of pressing the starter button for a period of approx. 4 seconds.
I got it started and it ran fine all the way to work, no problem with 4000rpm limit.
- Same starting problem after work.
After work i decided to change the fuelfilter, as i read that this could very well be the problem.
It didn't help, it still won't start on the first press of the starter, as it did 2 days ago...
The current solution to my problem = Press the starter once for 2sek, let it go until the fuel pump goes off and press it again then it starts right away.
By the way, when i turn the key, the fuel pump doesn't come on, it comes on when i press the starter though.
(My friends K1100RS 94 runs for 2sek when he turns the key)
