It was worse than I expected.



Bad gasket, will replace.

I cleaned off all the loose stuff.

All cleaned up.

I had to come up with a way to clean this up w/o trashing the fuel filter.
So I did this and used a SS wire brush and a vacuum to remove most of the debris.

The wire brush couldn't get it all, so I had to use fine sand paper, and again with the vacuum.


All done until the gasket set gets here.

Now I picked up that spring, not sure where it came from, but while cleaning up I found another spring.

As I figured out, the second spring wasn't part of this project.

I wonder if there is anything I could seal the pitted set with that wouldn't breakdown in the presence of fuel?
