Battery mounts rubber bobbin,
« on: January 11, 2022, 05:04:00 AM »
Hi everyone,
I’m removing these battery plate holders, all rusty and one came off without effort. The others seem stuck. As you can see in the picture I ripped one off leaving something I have to remove.
Is there a trick here to remove them?

I'd normally say they would unscrew, but it looks like you may have to carefully drill the center and use a screw extractor to get it out.
You might could try a skinny flat edge tool to bend the edges up, at which point you could possibly get some pliers to grip and remove it that way without drilling.

Thanx Scott. Yes the first one just pulled right out. The others just bend, its all rubber no shaft it seems.
Ok, will try :-)

I used a sharp chisel to bend up the edge so I could grab it with Vise Grips.  Then I heated it with a torch and unscrewed it.  Easy!
