Left blinker not working. BUZZING SOUND
« on: April 07, 2021, 09:11:14 PM »
Hey good friends,

The left
Blinker and brake lights on my 1992 k75rt has stopped working. When I press the left blinker I hear a buzzing sound coming from the electrical box.

Right signal works fine

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Does your bike have hazard flashers?  How are they working?

Check the condition of Fuse 3. Is it intact  Have you made any changes recently to the signal circuitry, like install LEDs.

Has the horn been working, and is it working at the moment? Has the triangular bulb warning light on the cluster been cancelling with the front and rear brake levers?

Thanks for the feedback .

Maybe I missed a few key notes lol

I removed the taillight, removed the cluster, and cut the hazards switch. I plan on putting a new Speedo and led brake light

But again the right blinkers works. I’m confused why one would work and the other wouldn’t. Could it be because I have no speedo connected or the cut hazards switch?

Yes I am Robert. Is there any other way we can discuss. For some reason I don’t have access to your profile so I can PM you.

I switched fuses that looked damaged.

One thing the blinkers and brakes have in common is earth at the rear. The buzz could be the horn relay as the blinkers try to steal earth from that path. might be worth having a look up the back.

Hey Stevie,

Not sure if this will help, but I had a similar issue recently. The turn signals are controlled by a computer located inside the electrical box. The case for the computer is bolted into the box with two gold-colored 10mm head bolts. Remove and unplug the case, and pry the computer board out of the case (you'll need a couple of small flat head screwdrivers and some patience). On the board you'll see two "towers". They are the turn signal relays. If your looking at them, the one on the right is for the left turn signal. You can plug the connector in and watch them work. My left signal would work intermittently, weather dependent, and while attempting to clean the contacts on the relay I noticed that the relay would move up and down more than expected. It turned out to be a cracked solder joint which was visible with a magnifying glass on the other side of the board. I added a dab of solder to it and the signals work perfectly now. Sorry I didn't take photos. I happened to be searching for something else when I came upon your post, so I joined in order to reply! Hi everyone!

Hey guys. I figured it out and wanted to let you know. There was a bad connection that came loose on the indicator which is an incomplete circuit and caused the buzzing. Lolll. So simple.

Thanks though guys.

Thanks, it's always helpful when the solution is given.

Was it a loose earth? Or positive.

Was it at the rear? Or front.

Or something else.
