Tail light issue
« on: June 04, 2017, 08:05:26 PM »
replacig OEM with after market lights

Brake light works, and the front parking light works kind of.... it works with a LeD but not a regular light

I tried to just run a jumper wire from the headlight to the running light at the rear but when I do that the aftermarket light just lights up full and the brakes don't do anything to the light

If I don't run the jumper to the running light portion of the after market light the brake lights work good

When I plug the OEM back in the brake lights work but the tail light still does not work

I do not have 12vdc at the pin (g/bulk) for the tail light

I'm lost

I'm lost
I'm lost, too. Please explain exactly which bulbs are being replaced and what type and wattage of bulbs are replacing them, how many new assemblies you're installing and where they are located, and the expected function of the new arrangement.

The new arrangement is a single light with three wires.  One for brake one for running and one for ground

Mounted off the back using the OEM plug.  It's a model I got off amazon.   I also tried a different light with the same configuration.

There is no power at the grey and black wire that feeds the running lights.

When I plug the original tail lights back in... it doesn't work either but I can get the bike warning light on the lunch box/speedo to go off as Normal

I might just run micro running lights mounted in the brake from the headlight power

And mourn seperate brake lights
