As mentioned previously, swapped out my pooched K75 trans with a K1100. Also put on a K1100 center stand. I mounted the orig K75 footpegs plates. Mounted the left one and when putting the exhaust back on and bolting it to the footpeg plate it appears the clutch lever/arm now hits the exhaust and won't completely retract also the center stand doesn't quite line up with the rubber bumper on the exhaust now either. Is it as simple as spacing out the left footpeg mount to pull the entire mount and exhaust away?
I do not have the K11 footpeg mounts so thats not an option. However when I got the used K11 trans it did have these 'spacers' that were threading into the gearbox housing. These spacers had a receiving thread for the footpeg mounting bolts. I couldn't find these spacers on K11 fiche. Anyone know of what I'm referring to? And if so, I'm thinking I'll put these back in and put the K75 foot mounts back on. Any thoughts?

G,day , don't know if this helps . . . but I recently had cause to remove footpeg mount from my 93 K1100lt, and there was a small round spacer on every bolt inbetween  the tranny and the mount.

Thought I'd update this thread and hope this will be of some use to others doing this 'upgrade'.

As for the swap itself. Seamless. No issues at all with fitment. Where the finicky stuff happens is with footpeg mounts and exhaust. keep in mind I was doing this to an 86 K75 with drum brake and I also installed the K11LT centre stand with gearbox.
 1) on the right side you have to shim the footpeg mount to allow full range of the rear brake pedal. On my bike the pedal interfered with the tabs that the paralever arm would mount to if this was a K11LT. no biggie but necessary.
2) On the left side is where its an ongoing battle... I have to shim the footpeg mount to get the exhaust away enough that the clutch lever (gearbox) doesn't hit it. (There must be a subtle difference at this point of a K1100 and K75 exhaust). So I shim the two rear mounting bolts on the footpeg plate enough for the exhaust to clear (+1/4") which then result in the centre and side stands not lining up with their respective slots in the rubber bumper on the underside of the exhaust (not critical but.....) and the foot tang on the center stand clangs against the exhaust on the way up and usually hits and stops(this I'll probably solve by putting a pipe over the tang and bending it out a wee bit.

Anyway, its been a lot of fiddling to find the happy medium (which I'm still searching but its cold here (-4 F)). I think its still a good mod for anyone considering and I'll get it sorted. I'm not sure having the K11LT footpeg mounts would cure anything as I believe they then wouldn't bolt up to the K75 exhaust correctly at the point where the Z luggage bracket is.

To stop the K1100 center stand from contacting the exhaust, weld on a small tab to the right side of the stand just below the pivot.  It need be no bigger than 1.5cm x 1.5cm.  Drill and tap the tab for a M6 screw.  Attach a standard rubber door bumper to the tab.  When the center stand retracts, the bumper will contact the gear box housing before the stand hits the exhaust.
