Yosemite:
1) you were correct to avoid the valley, very sketchy stop and go riding among the highly distracted, all happy to crush you while looking at El Cap.
2) if you take the road to Glacier Point, maybe go uber early in the day, it's a road made for motorcycling. If you do what I did and go at 2PM, you will be stuck behind an RV staring at a "Good Sam" sticker, going 8MPH, weeping and gnashing your teeth for the shame of it.
On my way out, I was on E fuel in the valley, thinking "No prob, I remember from camping here in 1975 there's a gas station ..." Nope. Some flood made NPS remove fuel from the valley, and I coasted out of the Sierras to the glow of my yellow low fuel indicator. It was a _long_ bit before the juice could be obtained I seem to recall...
