as someone posted the grip diameters for heated grips are the same on each side.
but someone wrote on this forum the heated grips were larger, due to the heat wires.
It would help if you explain who these "someones" are, Whitey.
Have you read this post and information on the link about bar end weights within it?
You can always call MAXBMW—or another BMW dealer—with specific questions about part sizes, too, to fit their information into the mix.
I read somewhere on this board one should use the same size RH non-heated grip for the LH heated grip and the RH heated grip for the RH heated grip. I'm going to try the Grip Puppies for now.
The feeling I get in my right hand is a numbing, tingling feeling between my thumb and index finger. I get relief by placing my thumb on top of the hand grip or just hanging my arm down straight. I've been told it is an early symptom of "carpel tunnel syndrome."
My bars have the grayish-color grips with closed ends. Sooner or later they will have to be replaced, I'm sure. I do have functioning heated grips.
Johnny, it looks as if there is a wire going into the middle of the handlebars. I'll have to take the panel loose enough to be sure. I also plan to cut a small spot in the closed end of the grip, insert a light snake I have and see what the inside of the handlebar looks like. I'm hoping I find a welded nut not too far from the end. If so, I may be able to use the bar end weights I have. Worst case would be to change the screws to a different mm and/or pitch.
Laitch, the name is "White Dog," not "Whitey."
