Lower bushings causing fork seal leaks
« on: April 15, 2023, 03:21:51 PM »
Long time no post....
My fork seals have been leaking for a long time. I've replaced them a few times with BMW and aftermarket and it got to the point the left one was really bad. Couldn't understand it as the bushings looked okay. About a year ago I took them apart again and found the inside of the lower bushings to be worn. I replaced the lower bushings and seals and there are no signs of leakage after a year. Might actually have it fixed. Thought someone might benefit.

I haven't looked at my fork internals for a long time.  What should we be looking for?

So far so good as far as leakage.  I run boots on all my bikes.

Well mine were leaking, so there was something wrong. You're more informed than myself and I figure "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" might apply.
