ok changed the drain crush washer, still leaking. I looked at the manual and parts list. Any big deal to remove final drive and change two seals. What to look for? Special tools need? And its not coming from any where forward, just sitting there.

Can you pinpoint the leak? Show us in a picture. Final drives are generally pretty bulletproof.

directly across from the drain plug but I know its not the drain plug but I changed the crush washer anyway. Seems to be coming down from the wheel side of final drive

I would pull the wheel, etc. and have a look. Clymers calls for a myriad of "special tools" to disassemble a final drive and recommends having a shop do the work. Check Fleabay, they might have a good used FD that would save you money.

Hi, Brickhead,
I could be wrong, and hope that I am, but most of the times I've heard of a final drive leak on a K-bike, it's a bearing problem. If it IS that, I wouldn't mess around. I would contact Tom Cutter (tpcutter at aol dot com) and ask him what he suggests. He will probably have you ship him your final drive and he will repair it - correctly! It won't be cheap, but it will be done correctly. The alternative is, as suggested, to buy a used unit off of fleabay or maybe Frankenduck has one for sale. Good Luck!

Duck does indeed have several listed here (http://www.kbikeparts.com/#Drive%20Train).
Also, fleabay has four at the moment. Cheapest is first.

Not so quick guys. Not going to buy another without trying to fix this one :)
Defininetly leaking at the ring gear seal. I got the tire side of the final drive off. I had to remove the brake disc to confirm. The bearing does look kind of loose but then they all look loose to a certain degree. I need to do some more investigating to determine do I want to remove the whole final drive and fix it myself or ship it out. Do we have a final drive repair man some where in the USA?

Blue Moon Cycles in Norcross has a good reputation.
